PROJECTS PERFORMED BY MPS
Texas A&M University- West Campus 1 Replace (3) 400hp boilers
This project requires the replacement of 3 existing HW boilers with 3 new Owner furnished boilers HW boilers. The existing boilers were removed from service and handed over to the Owner. Additional associated work included: the fabrication and installation of a 14” boiler mains, and 10”and 8” boiler piping, combustion air and new flue piping for the new boilers, electrical, roofing, concrete pad provisions/extensions, insulation, industrial grade instrumentation.
Prime Contract – $610,000.00

University of Texas - Pagenkopf Laboratories
This project involved the renovation of an existing laboratory facility located on the 5th level at Welch Hall. MPS was responsible for all the mechanical, plumbing work specified on the project.
Subcontractor to DPR Construction - $195,000.00

RMMA Airport – Underground (Pre-insulated) Chilled water system. (City of Austin)
This project involved the fit-up and welding of approximately 6500 feet of 30”, 24”, 18” and 12” pre-insulated piping. 100% welds on the system were tested using the ‘Dye Penetrant’ Testing system, and 30% of the welds were X-rayed. Std. Wt piping and fittings were utilized for the systems
Subcontractor to JC Evans - $309,000.00

Hobby Chiller Activation – PH 2 (City of Austin)
This project involved the modification of the existing Condenser water system supporting the Central Plant for the Austin Energy District Cooling for Down Town COA. MPS installed (2) 60hp condenser water pumps, and the associated 18” piping system.
Subcontractor to TEPSCO - $205,000.00

Freescale – Gowning Room
This project involved the provision of a new mechanical/process system in a new Clean room at Freescale – (Oakhill campus).
Subcontractor to DPR Construction - $150,000.00
Freescale – VOC Upgrade
This project involved the replacement of an existing VOC system. This project was 65% ductwork, 40% rigging, and 5% plumbing.
Prime contract - $225,000.00

Samsung Semiconductor – Boiler Feed-water System Modification
This project involved the modification of the existing boiler feed-water system. The modified system is designed to operate at 225psi. The modified system utilizes an in-line steam heat exchanger for the pre-heating of boiler feed water.
Prime contract - $70,000.00

Stephen F Austin State Office Building – 9th Floor Renovation (State of Texas)
This project involved the installation of a new mechanical system for the 9th floor of this building. The majority of work in this building involved the installation of new ductwork.
Subcontractor to Harvey-Cleary Engineers & builders - $251,000.00

Texas Department of Health - 7th Floor Laboratory Renovation (State of Texas)
This project involves the installation of new mechanical and process plumbing systems to facilitate the installation and operation of a new Laboratory on the entire 7th Level of the TDH building.
Subcontractor to Harvey-Cleary Engineers & Builders - $1,700,000.00

University of Texas – AHU Replacement @ Jester Dormitory
This project involved the replacement of (2) Owner furnished air-handling units; one of the units was an OAU that required the addition of shop fabricated coil casings/framework, etc. The timeframe to Substantially complete the project was approximately 4 weeks (after the units were delivered to the job site). Liquidated damages for the project - $11,000/calendar day.
The project was completed on schedule.
Prime contract -$200,000.00

University of Texas – Hal Weaver Power Plant Steam By-pass/Quench System
This project involved the installation of a high-pressure (300psi) PRV steam system. The pressure reducing valves were furnished by UT. In addition to the 16”, 18”, 30” and 36” steam piping provided by MPS; 48” carbon steel pipe was installed up to an MPS manufactured 8” diameter Quench vessel.
Subcontractor to Harvey-Cleary Engineers & Builders - $550,000.00

Hobby Chiller Activation – PH-III (City of Austin)
This project involves the provision of a new chilled water pump and associated piping; the replacement of 14” check valves with spool pieces, and new control modifications.
Prime contract - $210,000.00.

William P. Clements State Office Building – Cooling Tower Replacement
This project involves the replacement of a 6-cell cooling tower (4,200 ton capacity) atop a 17 story building. The replacement will involve street lane closures in Downtown Austin, temporary cooling tower installation, controls, piping, extensive rigging, demolition, electrical, and controls.
Construction Manager at Risk – 1, 200,000.00
