PROJECTS:

Following is a list of some of the projects that have been estimated and managed
by Michael Gonsalvez in the last 17 years of his career.

IBM Corp Clarifier, Austin, TX
The project involved the construction of a waste treatment facility for the IBM manufacturing facility located at 11400 Burnet Road, Austin, Texas. This individual worked for the process piping sub- contractor (Air conditioning Inc.) on the project. The process piping primarily comprised of a pressurized double contained fiber-glass piping system ranging in size from a 4” primary pipe (installed in an 8” secondary) line to a 12” primary pipe (installed in an 18” secondary) line
Project sub-contract $1 million.

Motorola Waste Treatment Facility, Oakhill Campus -Austin, TX
The project involved the construction of the waste treatment facility for the Motorola MOS 11 facility. This individual worked for the process-piping contractor (D. Carlson & Co.) on the project. The process piping primarily comprised a double-contained polypropylene piping system that ranged in size from a 2”primary pipe (installed in a 4” secondary pipe) line, to a 10” polypropylene piping system (installed in a 14”secondary pipe) line. A double contained PVDF system was also installed in this project for the handling of hydrofluoric and mixed acid waste systems
Project sub-contract $1 million.

McNeil Consumer Products Solvent Granulator Round Rock, TX
This project entailed the construction of a manufacturing facility for a pharmaceutical process, for a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson. This individual spearheaded the project for the mechanical contractor (D. Carlson & Co.) on the project. Besides conventional mechanical and plumbing systems, and pharmaceutical grade stainless steel piping systems that were installed, a solvent granulator with the requisite process piping, process ductwork infrastructure (including a hi-purity steam generator) was installed
Subcontract $3.4 million.

Motorola – Ammonia scrubber installation, Oakhill campus Austin, TX
This project entailed the installation of a 60,000 cfm ammonia scrubbing system that was spearheaded by this individual. 48” – 72” FRP ductwork was installed during this project, as was the Motorola standard double contained re-circulating and waste piping systems
Prime contract $1.5 million.

City of Austin Davis Water Treatment Plant - Austin, TX
This individual spearheaded the construction on this project (for D. Carlson & Co.), which entailed the modification of the potable water system at that facility. Included as part of these modifications, was the replacement of (3) intake water screens that required the employ (subcontract) of underwater divers. Also, a total of (6) pump discharge lines were upsized from 18” to 24”, cement-lined, and then installed. Additionally, the demolition of the original pump discharge lines required lead abatement, since these lines were painted with a lead based paint
Prime contract - $850,000.

Motorola CP#1 Cooling tower expansion, Ed Bluestein Campus Austin, TX
This project involved the installation 3000 tons of cooling tower (for a final installation of an additional 3000 tons), and approximately 1500’ of 36” carbon steel pipe. All the piping was coated with a 7.5 mil Tnemec epoxy coating
Prime contract $1.4 million.

Motorola – PCW Expansion Ed Bluestein Campus Austin, TX
This project was a fast track (12-week installation) of a Process cooling water system. The piping system was a 304L stainless steel system, approximately 2200’ of primarily 12” – 24” size pipe .
Prime contract - $1.8 million.

Motorola – MOS 3 Decommissioning, Ed Bluestein Campus Austin, TX
This project involved the complete decommissioning of a manufacturing facility, inclusive of all electrical and process systems; with a Closure Report accounting for all disposal means and methods
Prime contract – $1.9 million.

Sam Houston State Office Building Chiller & Cooling tower Austin TX (TBPC)
In this project, a state parking lot was converted into a cooling tower sump for the installation of 6000 tons of cooling tower. A 1200-ton chiller was also installed on this project. Approximately 300’ of 30” carbon steel pipe was installed as the primary portion of the piping. Electrical and controls were installed as part of this contract. The old cooling towers were also demolished via a change-order issued under the same contract
Prime Contract - $2.1 million.
